While Universal Orlando’s theme parks and hotels will remain closed through at least May 31, the company on Tuesday announced that it would begin to reopen some of its restaurants and shops on CityWalk.

Universal Orlando said that CityWalk, its retail and entertainment district, will begin limited operation of select venues on Thursday, May 14, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Select retail and restaurants will start with limited capacity, as well as an increased cleaning and disinfection procedures, as it begins to welcome guests.

Select venues that are scheduled to open include:

Select full-service restaurants and quick-service food locations including Red Oven Pizza Bakery, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant & Market, Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville (outside seating and Lone Palm area only), Voodoo Doughnut, and Auntie Anne’s. Each restaurant will have a limited menu and limited seating available.

The Universal Studios Store, Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company’s retail shop, and select merchandise carts as well as Hollywood Drive-In Golf will be open as well.

Each venue will limit capacity to help enforce social distancing, with all chairs and tables thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each seating. High-touch surfaces throughout CityWalk will be frequently cleaned and disinfected, as well.

According to Universal, additional venues may be added over time and hours of operations are subject to change.

Enchanced procedures
Enhanced procedures include team members being required to undergo temperature checks and wear face coverings.

Universal Orlando will also require temperature checks for each guest upon arrival—if a guest has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater on arrival, they will not be able to enter CityWalk. Guests will also be required to wear face coverings during their visit, and they will be available for purchase at cost.

Cashless payments will be available at all venues, and self-parking will be complimentary.
