AA Sets Oct. 17 for US Airways’ Migration to Sabre

The countdown to US Airways’ migration to the Sabre reservations system used by American Airlines will begin this week, 90 days before the planned move. On July 17, American will convert all US Airways flights departing on or after Oct. 17 to American flights, operating only under the AA code, and will move them to the Sabre system. Flight numbers will remain the same, but passengers will receive new confirmation numbers. The so-called “drain-down” approach will leave only about 10% of US Airways flights to be moved during the migration.
