Bahia Principe Grand Tulum Reopening Next Month

Bahia Principe Grand Tulum is set to once again start welcoming guests on Nov. 15 after over a year of renovations.

The resort, located 60 minutes from the Cancun International Airport, 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen, and 20 minutes from Tulum’s Mayan ruins, was Bahia Principe’s first Mexico property when it opened over two decades ago and will reopen with major changes, including a focus on its Mayan origin.

“As part of the brand’s evolution, we have reimagined all the spaces, amenities and experience to pay tribute to the rich Mayan heritage of the area, while maintaining the same principles of our brand and offering outstanding quality service. We are sure all who visit will appreciate this setting in a completely new way,” said Helen Montijano, vice president of sales and marketing for the U.S. and Canada

The renovations include massive pillars, engraved with Mayan symbols in the center of the lobby and a new neutral color palette inspired by the earth and the resort’s surrounding nature.

The resort will also reopen with a slate of new eateries including: Yucatan Buffet, Hindu Thai Restaurant, Gourmet Don Pablo, Mexicano Tequila, Restaurant Rodizio La Gran Tortuga, The Truck Beach Restaurant, Andale Burger, and La Isla Bar.

For entertainment, it will offer three pools, a spa with outdoor palapas, green spaces and walking trails, a fitness center, shopping area, a Grand Theater, and a “discotheque.” For kids and teens, Grand Tulum will offer 10 different dedicated spaces including a teen club; a kids club named Zama after Tulum’s walled city that includes indoor and outdoor activities including a jungle park with zip lines, tunnels, slides, and more.
