Beyond Green, a portfolio of global hotel and resort properties, has added seven new members to its lineup, including properties in Colombia, Zimbabwe, Spain, and India.

“I am thrilled to announce the expansion of our global portfolio with the addition of these seven new member properties,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Beyond Green. “As we continue to grow, we remain steadfast in our mission to promote travel as a force for good, guided by our pillars of sustainability – Nature, Community, and Culture.”

Among the new properties are:

ARTIEM Asturias (Asturias, Spain): Located on Spain’s northwest coast, the property prioritizes local and seasonal products in its on-site restaurant lounge, and uses a variety of practices and tools to reduce energy consumption and control its carbon footprint.

Dromoland Castle Hotel (County Clare, Ireland): The famed hotel, a 16th-century estate in Ireland, may offer lavish surroundings but its serious about sustainability. The property is dedicated to waste reduction and local sourcing, and has undergone a number of infrastructure improvements to minimize its environmental footprint.

The Leela Palace Bengaluru (Bengaluru, India): This rose-hued palace has an Art Deco-inspired design with copper domes, arches, and ornate ceilings adorned with antiques from across India. The palace also integrates eco-friendly practices including an EV charging station, solar plants, and a 100% commitment to renewable energy. Additionally, the property supports the local culture with pottery workshops, henna art, safa tying, and more.

Zambezi Sands by Batoka Africa (Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe): Situated along the Zambezi River, just minutes from Victoria Falls, Zambezi Sands is the first black female-owned safari lodge in Africa. It features 10 Bedouin-style tents. The property is actively involved in anti-poaching efforts and fire prevention, employs local community members, and donates 10% of guest revenue to local development projects.

Hotel Las Islas (Cartagena de Indias, Colombia): Located on Baru Island, just 45 minutes from Cartagena, Hotel Las Islas offers 65 bungalows overlooking the Caribbean Sea and tropical forest. The property has partnered with the Baru community and the National Natural Parks of Colombia since 2018 to restore mangrove forests, resulting in the planting of more than 2,000 trees. The hotel is also actively engaged in coral restoration.

Mas Salagros EcoResort (Barcelona, Spain): Situated within a nature reserve with views of Parc de la Serralada Litoral, the five-star Mas Salagros EcoResort is the first 100% eco-friendly resort on the Iberian Peninsula. Sustainability initiatives include Green Globe certification, a biomass boiler fueled by sustainably-managed Catalan forests, and plant-based roofs for temperature regulation and biodiversity enhancement, among others.

Beyond Green is part of the larger Preferred Travel Group. All member properties must adhere to more than 50 sustainability indicators aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
