Russia’s Second-Largest Airline to Cease Operations
Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, suspended sales of tickets on Transaero, Russia’s second-largest airline. The carrier will cease operations on Dec. 15.
All tickets for flights on or after Dec. 15 will be canceled, including those with outbound legs before Dec. 15 and returns on or after that date. The tickets cannot be rebooked for an earlier date.
Aeroflot had attempted a bailout of debt-ridden Transaero, but the deal fell through. Transaero will continue to operate until Dec. 15, but the flights will be “coordinated” by Aeroflot.
