Starwood Names New CEO
Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced today Thomas Mangas has been appointed chief executive officer, effective Dec. 31. In his new role, Mangas will oversee the completion of Starwood’s merger with Marriott.
Mangas currently serves as the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, where he’s responsible for strategic planning, corporate development, risk management, and investor relations.
Mangas previously held several leadership positions asat Armstrong World Industries, including CEO and senior VP, and spent 20 years at Procter & Gamble.
The move follows the resignation of Adam Aron, who is taking on a new role as CEO and president of AMC Entertainment. Aron was a member of Starwood’s Board of Director’s Directorsfor nearly a decade.
