ACTA Releases Statement on Credit Card Rates

ACTA has released a statement on the Canadian government’s assertion it does not need to regulate interchange rates set by credit card networks. ACTA believes, however, that “the exorbitant credit card fees we have in Canada (unlike other jurisdictions including the European Community, Australia and Spain) are eroding the profitability of many small and independent businesses, including travel agencies.”
