Hotels Can Bid for Better Placement on Expedia Through ‘Accelerator’

February 17, 2016

Expedia’s new “Accelerator” program allows hotels to bid against each other for better placement on Expedia.com. The program is currently being tested in limited markets.

As it stands, placement on Expedia is based on rates, availability, quality of reviews, popularity, and distance. Expedia said customer feedback scores will still play a part in determining where hotels end up in search results.

If the program is successful, it could change the way other OTAs list hotels as well.
