Butterfield & Robinson is meeting market demand for multi-generational travel with a new Multi-Gen Legacy product line, offering bespoke itineraries across land and sea.

According to the Toronto-based luxury tour operator, revenue from multi-gen and skip-gen family travel has more than doubled since 2018, and yacht charters are up by record numbers in 2025—trips in this category increased by 130% year-over-year.

The new collection, which is available within the Legacy Trips bespoke product line, is structured around three pillars: By Sea, Villas & Private Estates, and Safari & Wildlife.

The three pillars span experiences that cover a wide range of interests, allowing Butterfield & Robinson’s Experience Designers to truly tailor each journey to the unique comfort levels and interests of each family.

By Sea focuses on yacht charters, which offer families ultimate privacy and freedom while exploring exciting regions like the Galapagos Islands and Norway. Villas & Private Estates covers land-based accommodations—spacious luxury homes that can accomodate the needs of multi-gen travel, including room for private events and amenities for all ages. Finally, Safari & Wildlife covers nature-based, immersive experiences for all ages in breathtaking destinations like Tanzania and Costa Rica.

Butterfield & Robinson is backed by 60 years of industry experience delivering bespoke, luxury active and tailor-made travel. The new multi-gen collection continues this tradition of elevated and personalized itineraries: With amenities like private chefs and exclusive access to activities, and deep customization to suit each family’s needs and interests, the tour operator’s multi-generational product line was designed to bring families together through adventure, comfort, and unforgettable shared experiences.
