Cox & Kings Looks to Broaden Market with New Small Group Tours

After 260 years in business, Cox & Kings has served the most discerning, high-end travelers with their customized luxury adventures. Now, the company is broadening that market with new small group journeys.

The luxury tour operator, which started in 1758, creates trips that focus on personalized service and curated experiences. Beginning this fall, it is venturing into groups with an average of 18 guests and a maximum of 24.

The new Luxury Small Group Journeys will provide guests with the same exclusive access and high service standards as the company’s individual journeys, but will be priced starting at $5,295 per person.

“Cox & King’s new Small Group Luxury Journey’s price point will be lower than our private journeys, as we are able to negotiate group rates, which allows us to pass along a significant savings to our consumers without sacrificing quality,” Jared Alster, vice president, marketing, Cox & Kings, The Americas, told Travel Market Report. “So, this new product provides everything you’ve come to expect from Cox & Kings in terms of service and premium quality, but is now more accessible to a broader audience of like-minded travelers.”

To promote the new product, Cox & Kings is offering its travel advisor partners a 20 percent commission on all group bookings made by Dec. 31, 2018 for departures through the end of 2019.

Cox & Kings is launching the first of their Luxury Small Group Journeys departures with an inaugural set of seven destinations including Peru, Morocco, Japan, China, Spain & Portugal, South Africa and India. Itineraries will run from nine days traveling through Peru’s Sacred Valley to 15 days exploring the wonders of India.

Plus, itineraries will be guaranteed to run with a minimum of two travelers.

There will be more departures in 2019, with some scheduled through 2020, and plans to launch new destinations and itineraries over the next two years.
