G Adventures Partners with National Geographic for New Family Tours
by Daniel McCarthy
Family tours are an important part of the G Adventures/NatGeo relationship.
National Geographic and G Adventures today co-launched a new tour aimed at families with children or grandchildren between 7 and 17-years-old called National Geographic Family Journeys with G Adventures.
The 12 small-group tours will go on sale on May 7 with the first departures set for 2020. They will all feature National Geographic experiences designed to connect adults and children through travel. No destinations have been unveiled yet, but more details are expected to come before the May 7 on sale date.
With the new tours, G Adventures, which first joined forces with National Geographic in 2015 and has grown the partnership to include 89 trips in 53 countries, is actively trying to cater to the family market, according to U.S. managing director Ben Perlo.
“This new program of trips is perfect for adventure-loving families who are looking to discover the world together. The newly-designed itineraries have been developed from scratch to inspire travelers of all ages to experience each destination’s diverse characteristics, from wildlife and conservation, to history and culture, plus exploration, photography and storytelling,” he said.
Just like other G Adventures tours, Perlo said the company will “encourage interactions with local people, and ensure as much money as possible stays in the communities we visit.”
