BCD Travel Germany Joins App Craze

BCD Travel Germany has introduced BCD Travel Companion, a free app available at the Apple iTunes store. The app provides information on the traveler’s itinerary, including flight times, departure terminals, hotel and car rental information, reservation and ticket code numbers for all services booked through BCD. It sends alerts when flights are canceled or delayed or when airline schedules change, enabling the user to react and rebook quickly if necessary.

BCD Travel Companion also includes travel tools, such as weather forecasts, currency converter with daily exchange rates and business travel tips. The application was developed by Tourist Mobile gmbh, an Innsbruck, Austria, firm.

BCD Germany joins a growing trend: American Express and Carlson Wagonlit Travel have begun offering mobile applications to their clients, while Travelport has teamed with WorldMate to enable agency subscribers to offer apps to their clients.
