eNett to Automate Agency Service Fee Processing

A new payment system that will allow travel agencies to process service fees will be launched by eNett International, a joint venture of Travelport and PSP International, early in the fourth quarter.

Called feeNett, the application is fully integrated with desktop and back-office processes and systems. Although it offers “seamless” integration with the Apollo and Worldspan platforms, it can be used by travel agencies that subscribe to other GDSs.

Travelport said feeNett will deliver streamlined processing of payments by eliminating multiple entries of data. It also will provide faster settlement of fees, competitive merchant rates, enhanced transaction data on card statements and comprehensive web-based reporting on all transactions in real time, it said.

The system will provide full documentation and detail of each transaction for accurate reflection of the fee in reports and on travelers’ credit card statements.

FeeNett was originally launched in the Australian market; the U.S. version will be “new and improved,” eNett said.

FeeNett will be demonstrated at the NBTA convention next week.

The joint venture was launched a year ago with the aim of applying PSP International’s existing payment and settlement capabilities, available in the Pacific region, to Travelport’s worldwide relationships with travel suppliers.

The goal is to enable automated payments, settlement and reporting between travel agencies and travel product suppliers, including non-air suppliers and non-traditional players such as low-cost carriers. It also plans to provide better support for alternative forms of payment, such as debit cards and direct debits.

The company is also working on solutions for corporate travel, such as automated hotel bill-back generation.
