ARC Makes Data-Analysis Tool Available to All Biz Travel Managers
by Michele McDonald /The Airlines Reporting Corp. made its FareSight product available to all corporate travel managers, regardless of whether their organization is ARC-accredited, has a dedicated ARC number through its travel management company or books air travel independently.
FareSight accesses current and historic ARC data related to a travel manager’s particular organization and provides an analysis of the company’s air travel patterns and spending.
The tool also compares the company’s average ticket price, for any origin and destination, with the overall market.
FareSight also allows corporate travel managers to profile travelers’ behaviors based on actual travel, as well as measure airline contract performance and understand their market share by carrier.
“Buyers generally don’t have access to tools that can show them what’s going on in the market,” Doug Mangold, ARC’s managing director of product management, said. “This shows them the average fare they paid on a route compared to what the market paid.”
Launched in January
ARC rolled out Faresight in January to corporate travel departments that were either ARC-accredited or had a dedicated ARC number through their travel management company.
Until then, “we hadn’t focused on the corporate travel buyer,” Mangold said.
Following the rollout, corporate travel managers who didn’t have ARC numbers showed an interest in the product. “We’re now boarding all companies,” he said.
