Indian IT Company Acquires Rezopia
by Michele McDonald /Sonata Software acquired a controlling stake in Redwood City, Calif.-based Rezopia Inc. a cloud-based reservations, contracts, operations and distribution management platform for travel agencies and suppliers.
Sonata Software, based in Bangalore, India, serves the travel, retail and consumer goods industries.
In a separate transaction, Sonata will acquire the businesses of Bengaluru, India-based Xyka Software Private Ltd., the primary service provider to Rezopia’s platform.
Rezopia’s software allows agents to sell through the web, social media, call center or mobile devices.
It automates and integrates major back-office tasks and operations, including accounting, booking and CRM through a central reservations system. The system connects in real time with GDS and other third-party supplier systems and wholesalers.
Standalone products
Agents can sell standalone travel products or include them in dynamic or pre-set packages. The Rezopia Rules Engine enables the management of discounts, promotions, supplements, minimum-stay restrictions, payment and cancellation policies, and blackout dates.
Rezopia also includes a group booking feature that can accommodate large groups.
The company provides systems for airlines, hotels, rail companies and tour operators.
Rakesh Hegde, founder of Rezopia, said the partnership with Sonata will allow the companies ‘to pool strengths to emerge as technology providers who can help travel enterprises access solutions that blend innovation, agility and scale to meet their business needs.”
