Celestyal to Add New Cruise Ship to Fleet

by Dori Saltzman  February 23, 2023
Celestyal to Add New Cruise Ship to Fleet

Celestyal Journey will join Celestyal Crystal and Celestyal Olympia (pictured here) when it enters the fleet after an extensive refurbishment.

Celestyal, a specialist in Greek and Eastern Mediterranean cruising, has purchased a new ship to add to its fleet. Originally built as the Ryndam for Holland America and more recently operating for P&O Australia, the 1,260-guest Celestyal Journey will undergo an extensive 20 million Euro refurbishment and technical maintenance before entering service.

“While the global events of the past few years have placed our growth plans on pause, the positive industry outlook with strong bookings for the coming season, provides Celestyal with the opportunity to recommence the process of renewing our fleet with new vessels,” said Chris Theophilides, CEO. “In addition to her expansive open decks, numerous bar and dining options as well as spacious public areas and staterooms, the Celestyal Journey provides our guests with a significant increase in premium and balcony staterooms, which continue to be in high demand on all of our voyages.”

The cruise line currently operates two ships, Celestyal Crystal and Celestyal Olympia, which offers 53 and nine cabins with balconies, respecitvely.

More details regarding the onboard experience on Celestyal Journey and its itineraries will be released in the next month or two.
