Celestyal announced today that the boutique cruise line has signed a three-year agreement with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).
The Athens-based boutique cruise line is known for its sailings around the Greek islands, Turkey, and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Under the new multi-year partnership, which was signed at the Seatrade Global conference in Miami, Celestyal will promote Abu Dhabi among its guests while strengthening its commitment to the region.
Celestyal launched its Desert Days itinerary last year; from November until March, Celestyal Journey sailed roundtrip from Doha with calls at Bahrain, Dubai, Khasab, Sir Bani Yas Island, and Abu Dhabi. Desert Days will continue for a minimum of three seasons.
The recently refurbished 1,360-guest Celestyal Discovery is set to also sail in the region. The ship will homeport in Abu Dhabi from Dec. 12, 2025, sailing three-, four- and seven-night Iconic Arabia cruises.
“Abu Dhabi is a diverse and stunning destination, which is why we’re excited to not only homeport there but also include three weekly calls to the city throughout the winter season for the next three years,” said Lee Haslett, Chief Commercial Officer at Celestyal.
Celestyal offers a shore excursion program for Abu Dhabi. The half-day tours feature food and culture explorations, theme park visits, VIP beach days, desert safaris, and other classic attractions.
“Abu Dhabi is an ideal fit for our guests who are looking for immersive and culturally rich experiences,” added Haslett. “The cruise industry in the Arabian Gulf is on track to welcome record passenger numbers in the coming years, and after a strong first season in the region, we’re excited to bring the very best of this special part of the world to our guests for many years to come.”
