Celestyal has unveiled its first-ever dedicated Western Mediterranean season, introducing a new 14-night voyage that combines Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. The “Mediterranean Odyssey” sailing will be operated onboard Celestyal Discovery and feature several maiden calls across the region. The sailings replace the Arabian Gulf season of deployments that the line announced were canceled in May.
Ports of call include Malaga, Spain (late stay); Gibraltar; Casablanca, Morocco (late stay); Cadiz, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal (overnight); Tangier, Morocco; Valencia, Spain; Palma, Mallorca; Sete, France; and Barcelona (Tarragona) with an overnight.
For the 2026/27 winter season, Celestyal Discovery will sail from Athens to Barcelona on Nov. 28, 2026, then operate two “Mediterranean Odyssey” voyages before repositioning back to Athens on Jan. 2, 2027.
For the 2027/28 winter season, the first repositioning will depart Athens on Nov. 19, 2027. The ship will then operate six “Mediterranean Odyssey” voyages, before repositioning from Barcelona (Tarragona) on Feb. 19, 2028.
Sailings for both the winter 2026/27 and winter 2027/28 seasons are open for booking.
“For more than a decade, we’ve become known for delivering authentic and immersive experiences across the Greek Islands and Eastern Mediterranean,” said Lee Haslett, chief commercial officer at Celestyal. “The time is now right for us to expand west and bring that same philosophy to a new collection of destinations.”
He added that Celestyal has “carefully designed these itineraries to showcase the true character of the Western Mediterranean.”
“Alongside the overnight stays in Barcelona and Lisbon, we’ve included hidden gems such as Sete and the extended time ashore, allowing guests to connect even more with the destinations they visit,” he said.
Guests can choose a seven-night sailing between Barcelona and Lisbon (or reverse) or do the full 14-night “Mediterranean Odyssey” sailing.
The Western Mediterranean sailings will be complemented by two eight-night “Mediterranean Riviera” repositioning cruises between Athens and Barcelona. Ports of call will include Kusadasi, Turkey; Messina, Sicily; Naples, Italy; Civitavecchia, Italy (late stay); Nice, France; and Barcelona (Tarragona), including an overnight. The return voyage will operate in reverse.
Clients with more time, can add one of these eight-night sailings to the 14-night “Mediterranean Odyssey” for an immersive 22-night voyage.
As with all Celestyal sailings, all fares include meals, soft drinks, Wi-Fi, port fees, and gratuities.
“These new itineraries truly showcase our deep Mediterranean expertise and heritage,” said John Diorio, vice president and managing director of business development for North America. “We’re giving advisors a unique opportunity to offer their clients exceptional winter sailings at a better price point than other lines in the region.”
