Disney Cruise Line Drops Vaccine Requirement for Kids Younger Than 12

Bucking the trend that’s seeing many cruise lines drop most of their COVID-19 vaccination mandates, Disney Cruise Line has made its own changes, removing the requirement only for kids younger than 12 years old.

Starting September 2 for sailings departing U.S. and Canadian ports, only guests ages 12 and older will continue to need to be fully vaccinated. The line’s current policy requires anyone 5 and older to be vaccinated.

The cruise line has not changed its testing policy.

All vaccinated guests will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken one to two days before sailing.

All unvaccinated guests will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 NAAT, rapid PCR or lab-based PRC test taken one to three days before the sail date; a rapid antigen test is not accepted. This will be the first of two tests required for unvaccinated guests to board. The second will be conducted at the terminal on embarkation day.

Pre-trip test results for both vaccinated and unvaccinated guests must be uploaded into the Inspire Diagnostics Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day.
