Lufthansa Cabin Crew to Strike Tuesday and Wednesday at Two German Airports
by Daniel McCarthy /Another strike is set to impact travel through Germany this week.
Unions representing the Lufthansa cabin crew are set to strike at Frankfurt and Munich on Tuesday and Wednesday, a late-announced move that is the latest in a string of strikes by the airline’s workers. The strike will impact all departures between 4 a.m. local time and 11 p.m. local time at Frankfurt on Tuesday and Munich on Wednesday.
Ahead of the strikes, Lufthansa has made a number of changes to its schedule. All impacted guests will receive notice from Lufthansa with rebooking options.
“Impacted guests will receive personalized updates regarding flight cancellations and rebooking options via email or through the Lufthansa app as soon as their bookings are processed. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by this strike and thank you for your understanding in this exceptional circumstance,” Lufthansa said on Sunday.
The strike is the second in just a few days—Lufthansa ground staff completed a two-day strike last Thursday and Friday. That strike affected about 200,000 passengers across 1,000 flights per day.
