The separate blasts hit the upscale resort of Hua Hin, south of Bangkok, the tourist island of Phuket and Surat Thani city. Attackers used firebombs and explosives in what is being described as the worst violence to hit the country in years. No group has claimed responsibility.
No U.S. citizens have been identified among the victims. Police said four of the injured tourists were from Germany, two from Italy and one from Austria. Officials from the Netherlands said four of its citizens were also wounded.
Thailand expects a record 32 million visitors this year.
