Royal Caribbean Reveals Culinary Line-Up for Wonder of the Seas; Debuts Southern Comfort-Style Eatery

When Wonder of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s newest Oasis-class ship, launches in March 2022, it will feature 20 dining venues, including an all-new Southern comfort-style restaurant and bar. The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar will join Royal Caribbean favorites like Giovanni’s, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Chops Grille, and Johnny Rockets.

Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar
Embodying the comfy downhome feel associated with Southern cooking, The Mason Jar features rustic décor and live country music. There’s even a cozy porch decked out with a swing for lounging in while you wait for your table.

The menu features something for everyone for brunch, dinner and late-night snacking, beginning with freshly-baked buttermilk biscuits and jalapeno cornbread. Brunch choices include a delicious cinnamon roll or savory johnnycakes topped with barbecue pulled pork.

The dinner menu includes Southern cooking favorites like fried green tomatoes, southern fried chicken, crab beignets served with lump crab dip, and shrimp and grits. Desserts range from traditional pies to spiked floats and shakes.

The deliciousness doesn’t stop at food. The drinks menu features a collection of more than a dozen American whiskeys and a lineup of Southern favorites like the classic mint julep and a Mississippi Moonlight that’s loaded with blackberry moonshine, blackberries and lemonade, and served in a chilled mason jar.

Cantina Fresh
Also new is the Cantina Fresh bar, which serves up a selection of “aquas frescas,” margaritas, and other Mexican staple drinks. You’ll find it right next to El Loco Fresh, Royal Caribbean’s grab-and-go spot for Mexican favorites like made-to-order tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.

Royal Caribbean Favorites
Alongside The Mason Jar, Wonder of the Seas will include most of the restaurants and eateries Royal Caribbean fans know and love. These include the first appearance on an Oasis-class ship of the enlarged Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, along with Wonderland, Izumi, Chops Grille, and 150 Central Park.

More casual Royal Caribbean staples will include Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Johnny Rockets, Starbucks, and Sugar Beach.

Bar choices will include The Vue and The Lime & Coconut, among several others.

Wonder of the Seas is scheduled to debut in March 2022 from Fort Lauderdale, where it will remain through much of April. It will then reposition to Barcelona and Rome for an April-to-October European season, before returning to Florida where it will homeport from Port Canaveral. It will be the first Oasis-class ship to feature eight neighborhoods instead of seven.
