With two ships already at sea, Virgin Voyages is unveiling its Sailing Club loyalty program, complete with exclusive perks and rewards to entice cruises back to a Virgin Voyages cruise. The program, which Virgin Voyages said is only a precursor to a larger program coming in 2023, provides a variety of offers for the remainder of 2022, including the opportunity for cruisers to elevate themselves to the line’s highest status tier in 2023.

“This brand was built on innovation, so we’re taking a truly unique approach and developing a program that will give Sailors a taste of what’s to come while rewarding those who’ve supported the brand all along,” said Nirmal Saverimuttu, president and chief experience officer. “We are thrilled to introduce The Sailing Club and offer our loyal Sea-Blazers and Sea-Rovers our 2022 Perks Program as a thank you for being our biggest fans.

2022 Perks
The Sailing Club is offering two perks in 2022.

The first provides guests who book a 2022 cruise with what it calls “Deep Blue Extras,” a collection of experiences that includes things like one free Shake for Champagne, anytime boarding, premium wi-fi (when available), exclusive cocktail parties and laundry services.

Deep Blue Extras are available for all qualifying guests that sail from September through December 2022.

A qualifying sailor is defined as either a Sea-Blazer, Sea-Rover or Match & Sea More Sailors.

Sea-Blazers are guests who sailed with Virgin Voyages in 2021. They will receive an additional perk of a $125 Bar Tab Bonus for life.

Sea-Rovers are those who have sailed with Virgin Voyages at least twice in 2022. Sea Rovers get a $100 Bar Tab Bonus for two years (valid through 2024).

Match & Sea More sailors are those who have enrolled in other cruise and select airline travel programs. They may come onboard Virgin Voyages and have their status matched. They’ll also be granted Sea-Rover status, which includes the $100 Bar Tab Bonus for two years.

The second perk is for those who book any time between now and November 15, 2022. New, qualifying bookings made during this time will receive special on-board perks, along with chances to win extraordinary experiences across the Virgin family. Among the prizes on offer is a trip to Ulusaba, Richard Branson’s private game reserve in South Africa, as well as Virgin Points through Virgin Red. (More prizes will be announced later.)

Additionally, anyone who books between now and November 15 will get an extra $200 in Sailor Loot (aka onboard spending credit).

Tokens for 2023
With an eye towards 2023, Virgin Voyages is introducing “tokens” to track all qualifying spend by cruisers to ensure they are positioned for benefits in 2023. All money spent with Virgin Voyages since its inception will be counted and tallied as tokens.

As an exclusive perk, every dollar spent between now and November 15 – up to four tokens per dollar for Sea-Blazers and three tokens per dollar for Sea-Rovers – will contribute to the guest’s future status.

Members of the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red in the U.S. can also redeem their Virgin Points on sailings from Miami and Barcelona on Scarlet Lady and
