20% of Americans Think About Their Next Vacation While on Vacation
If you’re not reaching out to your clients within five days or so of them returning from their travels, you’re missing out on a big opportunity. According to new research from OnePoll on behalf of Club Wyndham, 20% of 2,000 American travelers surveyed are already thinking about their next vacation while on their current vacation.
Twenty-one percent are also longing to be back on vacation the day they get home, while 27% said they begin longing for their next vacation within a week of returning home.
The survey also found that on average, respondents want to spend 15 days on vacation this year, though if they had more PTO, they’d be opting to spend a total of 18 days on vacation.
With the survey conducted on behalf of a timeshare company, it’s not a surprise that many of the findings related to accommodations. Some of the findings are useful for advisors as well. For instance, 23% of respondents said small hotel rooms are a deal breaker for them. Eighty-two percent of parents said they prefer to have their own space or at least extra space in their accommodation option.
In their dream hotel room, respondents said they want Wi-Fi (55%), a private balcony or outdoor area (41%), a large bedroom (37%), a large bathroom (33%), and a kitchen or kitchenette (32%).
