ASTA To Hold 2023 Convention in Puerto Rico, Moves to Earlier in Year

Puerto Rico will host the 2023 ASTA Global Convention.

The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) is moving up the timeline of its 2023 Global Convention from late August to early May. The three-day convention will be held at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino and the Puerto Rico Convention Center.

“We’re thrilled to partner with our friends at Discover Puerto Rico for the 2023 ASTA Global Convention,” said Zane Kerby, president and CEO of ASTA. “Puerto Rico has been a longstanding partner of ASTA… By hosting the Global Convention, Discover Puerto Rico is committing significant resources to support travel advisors who want to learn, or become certified, in selling Puerto Rico.”

Kerby added that he is a frequent visitor to the island and looks forward to sharing the variety unique cultural experiences that the island offers.

Attendees will have access to the best of Puerto Rico’s rich history and culture through an offering of unique customized tours that will highlight the destination’s food, beaches, mountains and active adventures.

The three-day show will be held from May 2-4, 2023 and will feature a trade show, educational programs, local excursions and a soon-to-be-announced Puerto Rican keynote. Optional pre- and post-convention tours will also be available.

“We are delighted to partner with ASTA to host their 2023 Global Convention,” said Brad Dean, CEO of Discover Puerto Rico. “Travel advisors are at the core of our industry, and these days, in which we are imagining and creating new paths to reignite and reshape travel, we want to be facilitators of the process and support our great partners.”

Promotion
Travel professionals who register for this year’s ASTA Global Convention in San Francisco (Aug. 24-26) by August 5 will receive $100 off their registration for next year’s show in Puerto Rico, in addition to receiving early access to all sightseeing tours.
