Another major brand is recognizing the growing population of independent travel advisors.

Flight Centre Travel Group today announced that it was launching a new brand called Envoyage. The brand is specifically targeting independent travel advisors and agencies, a group that Flight Centre expects to be a “significant” part of not just its future, but the industry’s future.

“Independent travel has been one of the fastest growing divisions for us in recent years and the investment in our new brand signals the significant role we expect the network to play in our future business model,” Flight Centre Global Leisure CEO James Kavanagh said in the announcement.

“It’s our ambition that Envoyage will become a global powerhouse – the most comprehensive, trusted, and recognized independent travel brand in market.”

Flight Centre’s move into the independent space comes after extensive market research, it said. The goal of the launch is to pair the opportunity for advisors and agency owners to have the freedom to run their own business, along with having the power of a global brand like Flight Centre.

The group said it will start the rollout of Envoyage in the U.S. in March, and it will then expand it to Canada, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
