After a successful debut last January, Travel Market Place Leadership Exchange (TMPLE), a first-of-its kind, invitation-only event exclusively for the Canadian travel market, opened up for its second annual edition this week.
The conference, held at Secrets the Vine Resort in Cancun, hosted 25 of Canada’s top agency owners from across consortia, representing hundreds of frontline advisors and a total of $1.25 billion CAD in annual sales revenue.
“Year one went better than we could have hoped. Both the owners and suppliers told us that this was something that was desperately needed and an event that helped them have an incredible 2025,” Brian Israel, publisher and SVP of the TMR Group said.
“We’re so happy to be able to have them back in Cancun for our second-ever TMPLE, and we’re looking forward to doing it again next year,” he added.

The event featured 25 one-on-ones with supplier representatives for each of the invited owners, along with a leadership session hosted by business coach and strategist Geraldine Ree, and alternating panels with suppliers and owners moderated by TMR vice president Daniel McCarthy. Aside from the one-on-ones, TMPLE gives owners the time to meet and exchange ideas with their peers and the space they need to drive their business forward as 2026 rolls into high gear.
“It’s been really informative and incredibly useful,” Donna Kotanko, with Sudbury Expedia Cruises, one of the owners at TMPLE, said on Tuesday. “It’s a perfect start point for 2026. Meeting new suppliers, reconnecting with old ones, setting up trainings. It’s been great. We’ve been able to really have deeper conversations that are going to make a difference to our consultants.”
“I love this event for building relationships. The 20 minutes is all about building connections, getting to know these people as people and not just as someone sitting across the table has been incredible,”
Mandi Stefanak, the representative for Australia’s Northern Territory, one of the supplier DMOs at TMPLE, said.

TMPLE is the first of TMR’s expanding roster of travel trade events. The others include Travel Market Place (TMP), the most popular, and the largest, travel trade conferences in all of Canada.
In 2025, TMR hosted three different TMP editions in Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary. The 2025 Toronto show marked the highest-attend Canada travel trade conference ever with more than 850 attendees. In 2026, TMP will expand to four shows with the addition of TMP Montreal in May.
TMR is also gearing up to host its first-ever TMP Luxury Edition at Secrets Playa Esmeralda in the Dominican Republic starting on Oct. 20, 2026. That will also be a one-of-a-kind show for TMR, catering exclusively to the luxury market and built on giving luxury sellers the connections they need with suppliers to expand their circle and grow their businesses. Registration for that event is now open.
