Adventures by Disney is adding two new destinations to its tour lineup in 2024 -- Colombia and Eastern Canada's Maritimes Provinces.
"At Adventures by Disney, we take families to destinations they want to visit around the globe and make it easy to immerse themselves in new places, cultures and experiences," said Nancy Schumacher, senior vice president and general manager of Adventures by Disney. "We are excited to include Colombia in our 2024 lineup, as this country has been an inspiration for Disney stories that are loved the world over."
Specifically, Colombia and its people and cultures were the inspiration for the film "Encanto."
Highlights of the eight-day "Colombia: Bogota, the Coffee Region, Cocora Valley and Cartagena" tour include: two private tours in Bogota; tasting Colombian coffee, learning how to make arepas and play the national sport of tejo; exploring Cartagena; trekking the dry forest near Proyecto Titi; and snorkeling among the Rosario Islands.
Also new is an eight-day exploration of Canada's Maritimes of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Highlights include visiting a maple syrup farm in Nova Scotia; learning how to make and fly a kite at the Wood Island Lighthouse; visiting Avonlea Village, the fictitious community in the Anne of the Green Gables stories, and having tea with a descendent of author Lucy Maud Montgomery's family; learning about the indigenous Mi'kmaq Peoples; and enjoying a variety of outdoor family activities including horseback riding, biking, and kayaking.
Bookings for Adventure by Disney's 2024 tours open May 12, 2023.
