Adventures By Disney Adds Beauty And The Beast Sailings

by Daniel McCarthy  March 01, 2017

Adventures by Disney will sail a number of new river cruise itineraries with AmaWaterways in 2018, including “Beauty and the Beast” themed sailings along the Rhine.

The river cruise line will sail six special “Beauty and the Beast” itineraries aboard AmaKristina in 2018, with stops in areas that inspired the films including cities in France, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands.

Each “Beauty and the Beast” sailing includes screenings of both the animated and live-action films, a themed dinner and other culinary experiences onboard. Each sailing also includes a stop in Riquewihr, France, a village that Disney animators used as inspiration for the village in the films.

AmaWaterways and Adventures by Disney will also double the number of its food and wine sailings on the Rhine. Those sailings, inspired by the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, are adult-only and include culinary experiences both onboard and onshore including wine tastings, culinary walking tours and a French patisserie class.

Elsewhere, Adventures by Disney will offer six Danube sailings aboard AmaViola, including an adult-only Oktoberfest sailing in September 2018 that will offer some theme parties onboard.

The Danube sailings stop in four countries—Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary—and all include a stop in Salzburg to revisit scenes from “The Sound of Music,” along with a visit to Devin Castle in Bratislava.

“AmaWaterways is excited to expand our relationship with Adventures by Disney and looks forward to welcoming the family travel market to some of Europe’s most unforgettable river cruise destinations in 2018,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-owner of AmaWaterways.

Travel agents wanting to experience AmaWaterways first-hand can go on a number of different fam itineraries in 2017. Any agent booking 20 guests within two years of their fam trip will get the entire cost of their cruise refunded.
