Alaska Airlines is adding a new flight that it says will be the longest flight it its network.

Starting on June 13, 2024, Alaska will fly daily direct flights between its Anchorage hub and New York’s JFK International Airport. The flights, which will run seasonally through Aug. 19, will be Alaska’s longest flight in its network at 3,386 miles.

Alaska will fly the service on its 737-8 aircraft, with its First Class and Premium Class cabins onboard.

The New York flight is not the only new service Alaska announced this week. The carrier will also add new weekly flights to San Diego, also seasonal, starting on May 18, 2024. Alaska will operate the San Diego service weekly on Saturdays through Aug. 17.

“Alaskans love nonstop flights to and from the state. We like having great travel options and adding places such as New York and San Diego definitely fit the bill,” said Marilyn Romano, regional vice president for Alaska Airlines.

With the two new routes, Alaska’s summer schedule will now feature nonstop flights to 14 different destinations in the U.S., including Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, and more.
