Carnival Cruise Line has been forced to delay the launch of its next new ship, Carnival Jubilee after the Meyer Werft alerted the company to shipyard delays. Originally scheduled to debut in October 2023, the ship’s new inaugural cruise will be December 23, 2023 from Galveston.

“This is disappointing news, but with the notification from the shipyard, we are advising our guests as quickly as we can,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We appreciate their understanding as we work to delivery another spectacular ship that will provide a vacation experience our guests deserve and will absolutely love.”

Guests and travel advisors have been notified of the change. In total, including the original October 30 transatlantic journey from Southampton in the U.K. to Galveston, six sailings have had to be cancelled. Affected guests will receive a full refund, as well as a 25% future cruise credit on any Carnival cruise booked by December 15, 2023. Those who rebook by February 10, 2023 will receive a $100 per person onboard credit.
