The Dominican Republic Tourism Office revealed its new winter campaign, “Change the Season,” which aims to attract North American travelers looking to escape cold winter weather, on Oct. 26.

Travel professionals gathered for the launch event at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City, where DR Tourism Minister David Collado Morales presented videos for the new campaign and discussed the Caribbean country’s main tourism markets in the U.S.

“This campaign embodies the essence of our Caribbean paradise and our unwavering commitment to embracing travelers. It’s an invitation to escape winter and uncover the perpetual summer we provide,” Morales said. “With more than half of tourists originating from the United States, we’ve tailored this campaign for our American friends. ‘Change The Season’ is a testament to our commitment to providing an unforgettable experience in our Caribbean paradise.”

According to a survey conducted by the DR Tourism Office, 54% of the country’s tourists travel from the United States. Also, New York City is the most important city in the Dominican Republic’s tourism industry, representing 9% of tourists, Morales said at the event.

Morales added that it was the first time that a Minister of Tourism visited another city to present a new campaign.
