Delta Air Lines is expanding its operations and network out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) with two new international routes on the docket for next year, and new dual lounges for SkyMiles members.
The two new nonstop routes are a four-times-weekly service to Rome (FCO), launching May 6, 2026, and a three-times-weekly service to Barcelona (BCN), launching May 7, 2026. Delta will fly the service on its Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, which features lie-flat seats in Delta One.
One is a Delta One Lounge, and the other is a Delta Sky Club, two spaces that are connected across from Gate A11. The Delta One Lounge sits atop the Sky Club, offering space for 149 guests and 72 seats on a wraparound terrace that includes views of Mount Rainier. The Sky Club includes 183 seats and features large windows, but no terrace, offering that same view.
Just like Delta’s other lounges, the design pulls in elements from its surrounding city, including artwork from local artists, Seattle-inspired fine dining that includes some local seafood like Dungeness crab, and Caffe Umbria, one of the city’s most well-known coffee houses.
Delta, which sponsors two of Seattle’s professional sports teams in the Seahawks and Sounders, now says it is the “largest global carrier” out of Seattle. However, according to the Port of Seattle, which owns and operates Seattle-Tacoma, Alaska Airlines still remains the largest overall carrier out of the airport as of the end of 2024. Alaska flies 52.4% of all passengers out of the airport, and almost 58% of the total domestic lift from Seattle.
Delta’s international share from Seattle-Tacoma, as of the end of 2024, is 25.3% compared to Alaska’s 16.4%. Over the past decade alone, Delta has added 28 new markets in Seattle, and now operates 180 peak-day departures to more than 60 destinations globally.
