With Valentine’s Day approaching, we’re rounding up the most romantic destinations around the world. These are the best of the best places for couples to reconnect on vacation (that aren’t Paris or Rome), and are perfect for travel advisors planning honeymoons, vow renewals, and anniversaries.

Belize

A trip to Belize is sure to provide the right amounts of exhilarating adventure and pure relaxation for any couple looking to make lasting memories. This romantic destination offers a range of options for daytime fun for two, including ziplining, kayaking, and hiking through parks and rain forests that are home to hundreds of unique animal species. The country, located on Central America’s eastern coast just south of Quintana Roo, Mexico, offers a nearby paradise for North American travelers seeking a brand-new getaway.

Bora Bora, Tahiti

The French Polynesian island of Bora Bora, Tahiti has long been considered a top global destination for romance. It’s one of the world’s most beautiful beach settings for celebrating love, and is known as a safe, welcoming place for LGBTQ+ couples. Travelers love relaxing on the white sand beaches lined with coconut trees surrounding Bora Bora’s lagoon, home to tropical fish, corals, and manta rays – the perfect setting for scuba diving or snorkeling – and indulging in the luxury resorts and spas that dot the island with overwater bungalows and thatched-roof villas.

Krabi, Thailand

There’s lots for couples to explore in Krabi, Thailand, making it one of Asia’s most romantic destinations. From its natural parks and wildlife caves to enchanting waterfalls and hot springs, visitors can blend discovery and relaxation into their trip. The coastal community also has great beaches with beautiful sunsets – and many romantic seaside restaurants to watch them from.

Reykjavík, Iceland

Romance is in the air in Reykjavík, where visiting the Sky Lagoon and Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach are top picks for those seeking the right ambiance for the occasion. There are many locations to visit where couples can look out at fantastic views. Plus, there are delicious chocolates, wines, and romantic restaurants abound. This metropolitan area is also very progressive and offers lots to do for LGBTQ+ couples, such as Reykjavík Pride in the summer or visiting the city’s inclusive churches.

Marrakech, Morocco

The history, heritage, and architecture of Marrakech make it an enriching city to visit with a significant other. Couples can stroll through museums and local markets to experience the region’s culture or spend the day at a hotel spa. Barrière le Naoura, one of the destination’s many five-star hotels, offers a romance package that includes breakfast in bed, champagne, and a candlelight dinner.

Napa Valley, California

In the United States, no tourist town rivals Napa Valley in romance. Northern California’s stunning scenery of rolling vineyards, wine caverns and grand estates, coupled with its award-winning wine, make for an intimate getaway. After visiting the wineries, couples can enjoy the surrounding gourmet restaurants, top-notch hotels, and chic spas.

Prague, Czech Republic

The dazzling city of Prague offers an ideal backdrop for a couples’ vacation. Boat rides along the Vltava River are a must-do, as is a trip to Prague Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walks along Charles Bridge will spark some romance, and Petřín Hill is another popular spot for couples, who can eat at a riverside cafe or choose a fancier moonlight dinner option. Seeing a show at the National Theatre is a common way to cap off an evening.

Santorini, Greece

Santorini is another stunning European destination for couples to behold side by side. Picture an intimate dinner for two, paired with wine from a world-renowned volcanic vineyard, overlooking whitewashed houses along the Aegan Sea. Beyond the beautiful setting, Santorini has endless activities for adventurous couples, including cooking classes of the island’s specialties, a tour around the caldera, or soaking in an infinity pool nestled on a cliff’s edge.

St. Kitts and Nevis

Couples will find the most romance in the Caribbean in St. Kitts and Nevis. The sister islands offer picturesque vistas, pristine beaches, and plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the year. The destination recently launched a marketing campaign focusing on its romance offerings with package deals at some of its most popular resorts. Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort particularly provides an intimate setting for couples’ vacations.

Quebec City

With its charming cobblestone streets and historic architecture, Quebec City is a lovely, quaint neighborhood for couples to get lost in. Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must-see, with rich history dating back 400 years. Along the St. Lawrence River, there is a large boardwalk where travelers can take in the natural beauty. Just steps away are the nooks and crannies of the city, reminiscent of a European village, offering local shopping and dining.
