Oceania Cruises’ Riviera and Marina will undergo multi-million dollar refurbishments as part of the line’s OceaniaNEXT initiative. The rebuilds will see all 1,210 suites and staterooms on each ship completely redesigned, as well as a total transformation of all public spaces.

No area of the ships will be untouched, with every surface of every suite and stateroom replaced with all-new fabrics, furnishings, lighting fixtures, marble, art pieces and more. Riviera and Marina will debut as “better than new” in December 2022 and November 2023, respectively.

“At Oceania Cruises, we continue to raise the bar and elevate the guest experience at every opportunity,” said Howard Sherman, president and CEO of Oceania. “Whether it’s innovative new culinary concepts, immersive new destination experiences, or presenting our guests with ships that are not just better, but better than new, Oceania Cruises sets the standard by which others are judged.”

Staterooms & Suites
From wall to wall and floor to ceiling, every inch of the suites and staterooms onboard Riviera and Marina will be replaced. Custom-crafted furnishings, Italian marble, polished wood finishes and designer accessories will highlight the changes. Each room will have added storage space, multiple outlets, new USB ports, and bathrooms will be restyled with oversized showers.

Public Spaces
As with the suites and staterooms, all of the public spaces onboard will be reimagined including the Grand Dining Room, the centerpiece of which will be a glittery chandelier.

New to the ships will be an outdoor Trattoria featuring wood-fired pizzas, grilled Italian specialties, salads and desserts every evening in a relaxed setting.

Debut Sailings
Riviera will debut on December 7 on a 16-day Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean cruise from Rome to Miami. A season of seven to 14-day Caribbean sailings from Miami to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America will follow. The ship returns to Europe in late March 2023.

Marina is set to debut on November 13, 2023 on a seven-day cruise from Barcelona to Lisbon. From Lisbon, the ship will reposition to Miami where it will kick off its annual South America season on December 3, 2023.

OceaniaNEXT
Riviera and Marina are the last ships in the fleet to undergo an OceaniaNEXT refurbishment. Insignia, Regatta and Sirena went under the knife in 2019. Nautica’s refurbishment was completed this year with the ship returning to service just this month.
