Ovation Travel Group held an Open House event this week to show off the agency’s new office space. The new headquarters, located in the Chrysler East Building, which is adjacent to the famous Chrysler Building, holds a variety of innovative features designed to help make the space work for them.
“We’re located adjacent to the Chrysler Building, and to take a historic architectural destination in Manhattan was perfect for us,” said Sunil Mahtani, executive VP, at Ovation.
“It took six months to plan, and [in that time] we thought about our workflow. We thought about the younger population that was coming into travel, and what they were looking for. And we thought about what would really work best for us. So, we decided to start from a white canvas and basically grew it out,” Mahtani said.
The more than 40,000-square-foot hub, located at 666 Third Avenue in New York City, began as a completely blank slate, and over the course of the project, the team at Ovation input suggestions and recommendations to help make the space their own.

“If you get it right, you have a space that’s not designed by any one person, but it’s designed in collaboration with input from everybody,” said Neil Tucker, a partner with Design Republic, the architecture group that designed the space.
“The Ovation team was there with us from the beginning to the very end … Everybody was involved and everybody was invested in the ultimate outcome, and everybody wanted an environment that worked for them.”
The location is designed to be adapted to the agency’s every need, with customizable spaces for meetings and booths for agents to hold meetings with clients; a mural displaying notable destinations the agency sells; a kitchen area with a self-serve marketplace for snacks; and even an outdoor terrace area, which, weather permitting, will be used for future Ovation events.
“This space is very much about travel, it’s very much about destinations, it’s about collaborations, and it really worked well because the Ovation team was so involved,” said Tucker.
