Royal Caribbean Building Fifth Quantum-Class Vessel

November 03, 2015

Royal Caribbean announced on Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with Meyer Werft to build a fifth Quantum-class ship in 2020.

Royal, which recently launched a new ad campaign targeting active travelers, seems to be doubling down on attracting a more active traveler base, with another ship outfitted with a skydiving simulator, a Wave Loch Flowrider, and a rock-climbing wall in the works.

The first Quantum-class ship, Quantum of the Seas, debuted in 2014; Anthem of the Seas entered service a year later. A third, Ovation of the Seas, is under construction and is scheduled to sail in spring 2016, while a fourth, as yet unnamed, is scheduled to be delivered in 2019.
