Royal Caribbean Reveals Hefty Price for Crown’s Edge Thrill Attraction
by Dori Saltzman /Royal Caribbean will charge approximately $90 per guest for the Crown’s Edge experience on Icon of the Seas, according to Cruise Industry News.
Crown’s Edge is an all new attraction for Royal Caribbean, combining a ropes course, skywalk, and thrill ride all into one adrenaline-pumping adventure.
Located on the ship’s Crown & Anchor logo, the Crown’s Edge experience starts with a suspended walkway that participants must make their way across. At the end, the walkway drops out from under participants’ feet, leaving them dangling 154 feet above the ocean. When all is said and done, the entire experience from stepping onto the walkway to hanging in the air takes about 90 seconds.
At a cost of $89.99 per person, Royal Caribbean is essentially charging $1 a second, making it the line’s most expensive thrill ride – if not the most expensive at sea. (In comparison, RipCord by iFLY on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum-class ships costs $49 per person.)
Crown’s Edge debuts on Icon of the Seas, which was recently delivered to Royal Caribbean. The attraction will also be featured on sister ship, Star of the Seas, which Royal Caribbean revealed will be sailing out of Port Canaveral when it debuts in August 2025. Bookings for Star of the Seas’ cruises, which includes seven-night vacations to the Caribbean and Perfect Day at CocoCay, are now open.
