Air Transat has officially launched its inaugural flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to José María Córdova International Airport (MDE) in Medellin, Colombia, with a stop in Cartagena (CTG).
Flight TS158 departed Toronto on November 1, marking a key milestone in the expansion of Air Transat’s South American network. The new route, exclusive to Air Transat, operates twice weekly year-round, offering Canadians direct access to two of Colombia’s most captivating destinations: the vibrant Caribbean city of Cartagena and the dynamic, mountain-surrounded metropolis of Medellin.
“With this inaugural flight to Medellín, Air Transat is opening a new chapter in its expansion in Latin America”, said Sebastian Ponce, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer. “This unprecedented route perfectly illustrates our ambition to broaden the horizons of Canadian travellers and once again demonstrates Air Transat’s innovation and pioneering role in leisure travel.”
This launch also increases Air Transat’s winter service frequency to Cartagena and establishes the carrier’s first year-round operation on the Toronto–Cartagena–Medellin route. Looking ahead, summer 2026 will see a similar connection from Montreal (YUL), extending the existing Montreal–Cartagena flight to Medellin and making it available year-round.
The route is operated with the Airbus A321LR, which is renowned for its efficiency and passenger comfort and features two cabins – Economy and Club Class.
