by Catherine Maisonneuve
Porter Airlines has appointed Carlo Rinaldi as Director, Quebec Market Development, to lead the company’s commercial presence in the province.
This marks a return to his roots for this Montreal native, who spent 10 years at Porter earlier in his career. With the opening of Montreal’s Metropolitan Airport, the second airport in the greater Montreal area and a major hub for Porter, approaching, Rinaldi will be responsible for market development strategy, with a particular focus on growing the business travel segment, developing partner agencies, and strengthening engagement across the entire travel and corporate industry.
“Quebec is a unique, relationship-driven market, and I’m pleased to join Porter at a time of significant growth and as the company redefines many aspects of air travel,” said Mr. Rinaldi. “This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage Porter’s renowned passenger experience and increase our relevance to corporate clients, travel advisors, and partners across the province. I look forward to reconnecting with the market and contributing to Porter’s next phase of growth in Quebec.”
Porter has been serving Montreal from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) since its founding in 2006. With the opening of Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET), scheduled for June 15, the company plans to increase its capacity in the region by 91% as Porter has announced 12 new routes across Canada from this new airport.
