Turkish Airlines is deepening its commitment to the Canadian market, both in the air and on the ground, announcing expanded service from Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, while once again serving as the Official Airline Partner of the 2026 RBC Canadian Open.
As a guest of Turkish Airlines at this year’s RBC Canadian Open, I had the opportunity to experience the airline’s hospitality firsthand and witness the scale of its investment in the Canadian market. The Turkish Airlines Lounge, overlooking the 18th green, was the gathering place for media, partners and invited guests, showcasing the carrier’s renowned service, thoughtfully curated cuisine and attention to detail. Beyond the premium experience, the airline maintained a highly visible presence throughout the tournament, reinforcing its growing commitment to Canadian travellers and the travel advisor community.

The tournament, held June 11-14, attracted more than 120,000 spectators and concluded with a spectacular win by Bud Cauley on a day which saw more rain than sunshine, capturing his first PGA Tour title at 17-under par. Mississauga’s very own Sudarsahan Yellamarju was the low Canadian at -10, tied for 8th, while Justin Matthews, from Little Britain, Ontario, was the low amateur, coming in at -7.

The bigger story for travel advisors, however, is the airline’s continued investment in Canada.
Beginning in July, Turkish Airlines will increase service across all three Canadian gateways, offering daily flights from Toronto to Istanbul and four weekly departures from both Vancouver and Montreal. The additional frequencies provide greater flexibility for Canadian travellers while enhancing access to more than 350 destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East through the airline’s Istanbul hub.
The RBC Canadian Open also served as a platform for Turkish Airlines to highlight its leisure offerings. Visitors to the tournament sampled Turkish and international cuisine at the airline’s “Fare Way” activation while Turkish Airlines Holidays promoted golf travel to Antalya, giving one lucky visitor the opportunity to win a golf vacation including flights, accommodations and four rounds of golf.
The focus on golf tourism is particularly relevant for advisors serving active travellers. Turkish Airlines offers complimentary transportation for one set of golf clubs on international flights, adding value for clients heading to Türkiye’s growing collection of championship golf resorts or other golf destinations throughout its extensive network.
The expanded Canadian schedule includes:
- Toronto-Istanbul: Daily service (7 weekly flights)
- Vancouver-Istanbul: Four weekly flights
- Montreal-Istanbul: Four weekly flights
The increased capacity sends a clear message on the carrier’s confidence in the Canadian market and provides advisors with increased inventory and scheduling options as demand for long-haul international travel continues to grow.
