New 2027/28 Signature Itineraries for Hurtigruten
by Marsha Mowers
Hurtigruten has unveiled three new ‘Limited Collection’ Signature itineraries launching for the 2027/28 season. The sailings are part of the company’s premium, all-inclusive Signature concept introduced in 2023 and will take guests deeper into remote Norway than at any point since the company’s founding in 1893.
For the first time, Hurtigruten will also offer 11- and 12-day itineraries beginning or ending in Copenhagen, Denmark, providing expanded air access for Canadian travellers. Copenhagen currently offers up to 16 nonstop routes to Canada and the United States, while Tromsø — the alternate embarkation point — has seen significant growth in international air service in recent years, making both gateways highly accessible.
To celebrate the launch, guests booking by April 30, 2026 will receive up to $500 in onboard credit per cabin.

“As we continuously see a tremendous growth to Norway and growing interest in this incredible destination, Hurtigruten is creating more exciting opportunities for North Americans to experience this beautiful country,” said Carly Biggart, Head of Hurtigruten Americas. “For the first time ever, we will offer both a fjord-only itinerary and one that remains solely above the Arctic Circle, one of the most stunningly beautiful parts of Norway. With Copenhagen as a new port for the Arctic Line, it will be even easier to combine a cruise with one of Europe’s most appealing cities. These in addition to our recently launched tours truly emphasizes Hurtigruten’s role as the most authentic and immersive travel leader on Norway.”
Operating between April 2027 and May 2028 aboard MS Trollfjord, the new Signature voyages emphasize longer port stays — typically nine to 15 hours — in lesser-visited destinations, including Rosendal, Skjolden and Eidfjord near Bergen, often referred to as the capital of Fjord Norway. Flexible routing allows captains to adapt each sailing based on weather and conditions, ensuring optimal scenic cruising and wildlife viewing opportunities.
The new Signature ‘Limited Collection’ itineraries include:
The Inner Fjords Explorer (NEW)
Hurtigruten’s first fjord-only itinerary and its most immersive fjord voyage to date, this eight-day spring and autumn sailing ventures from Bergen deep into four of western Norway’s most spectacular fjords: Lysefjord, Hardangerfjord, Sognefjord and Nordfjord. The small-ship experience allows access to the innermost reaches of each fjord, with scenic cruising shaped by captain’s discretion.
Prices from $2,254 per person.
The Arctic Circle Explorer (NEW)
This eight-day roundtrip winter voyage from Tromsø remains entirely within the Arctic Circle. The itinerary includes Lofoten, Alta and Honningsvåg, with an optional excursion to the North Cape — mainland Europe’s northernmost point — and an overnight stay in Alta. Flexible scenic sailing beneath the auroral oval and minimal light pollution create ideal Northern Lights viewing conditions.
Prices from $2,829 per person.
The Arctic Line (NEW)
Available as a 12-day northbound or 11-day southbound winter sailing between Copenhagen and Tromsø, this voyage traces the full length of Norway’s coastline. Highlights include Lofoten, the North Cape, and overnight stays in Alta and Tromsø, with up to seven days spent under the auroral oval to maximize Northern Lights opportunities.
Prices from $3,379 per person.
“No one knows the Norwegian coastline like Hurtigruten,” said Hedda Felin, CEO at Hurtigruten. “These new voyages are rooted in generations of local knowledge, allowing our captains to adapt each journey to the conditions of the day – revealing Norway at its most spectacular. They are voyages shaped by nature, guided by expertise, and created for travellers who want to truly connect with the places they visit, not just sail past them.”
