Hurtigruten Launches Three Itineraries; Including Iceland for First Time
by Marsha Mowers
Hurtigruten is expanding its touring portfolio with the launch of three new itineraries including one that will include Iceland for the first time.
“Hurtigruten has been the destination immersion experience for Norway, and now your clients can extend that experience with amazing tour options cruising along the beautiful coastline, a tour exploring Iceland to the very best of Norway and Finland, or decide to experience the highlights of Finnish Lapland, or simply enjoy a few days in one of Europe’s most charming capitals, Oslo,” said said Biggart, Head of Hurtigruten Americas.
“Whether they want to see the Northern Lights in as many places as possible, as with our best-seller Follow the Lights, or chase the Midnight Sun across the Nordics, Hurtigruten truly has something for everyone.”
Air Transat announced late last year new service to Reykjavik, available from June 16 to September 27, 2026, with up to two flights per week on Tuesdays and Sundays.
The three new tours are:
Grand Nordic Adventure
This 19-day guided land and sea journey spans Norway, Finland and, for the first time, Iceland. Launching in July, the inaugural departure begins in Helsinki and features a rail journey across Finland, a stay at the Santa Claus Hotel, husky hiking, and cultural experiences focused on the Indigenous Sámi people.
The itinerary includes a six-day Southbound Hurtigruten Coastal Express voyage from Kirkenes to Bergen, followed by flights to Iceland. Highlights there include Reykjavik, the Blue Lagoon, dramatic waterfalls, and Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Prices from $7,533 per person, full board.

Nordic Winter Journey
Designed for winter travellers, this 13-day guided tour begins in remote Finnish Lapland, offering an early opportunity to view the Northern Lights while staying at a secluded camp resort. Guests enjoy classic Arctic activities such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing and sleigh rides, along with visits to Inari and the SIIDA Museum to explore Sámi heritage.
The journey continues with a cruise through the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, a ride on the Flåm Railway, and the full Southbound Hurtigruten Coastal Express.
Prices from $5,371 per person.
Norway’s Capital and Coast
Available summer only, this itinerary combines time in Oslo with a six-day Southbound Coastal Express cruise from Kirkenes to Bergen. The route showcases a range of UNESCO-listed cultural and natural landmarks, including several of Norway’s eight World Heritage sites.
Prices from $3,517 per person.
Hurtigruten has also launched several new itineraries with packaged add-ons to experience Norway beyond its cruises, including:
- Discover Norway with Summer Snow hotel stay – bookend the Southbound Coastal Express with a stay at the Snowhotel, or one of its gamme cabins, and a king crab safari and a stay in Oslo;
- Best of Norway – the 12-day self-guided combines the popular Norway in a Nutshell and Flåm Railway and a cruise on the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord with the Southbound Coastal Express;
- Complete Norway – Northern Lights – the 16-day self-guided tour that breaks up the Flåm Railway journey with an overnight stop in the picturesque Flåm and a night in Bergen before embarking on the full roundtrip Hurtigruten Coastal Express; and
- Complete Norway – Midnight Sun – the same 16-day self-guided tour during the Midnight Sun.
