Avalon Waterways Expands Seine River Cruises in 2027
by Marsha Mowers
Avalon Waterways has announced a strategic update to its France river cruise program, confirming that the Avalon Artistry II will redeploy to the Seine River starting in 2027, following the completion of its Bordeaux sailings at the end of the 2026 season.
Beginning in 2027, the 128-passenger Avalon Artistry II will transition to the Seine, expanding capacity where broader demand continues to accelerate.
The repositioning enhances capacity along one of Europe’s most in-demand river cruise corridors, where itineraries featuring Paris and Normandy continue to rank among Avalon’s top-performing programs.
“Avalon is committed to growing with purpose,” said Pam Hoffee, president of Avalon Waterways. “That means listening closely to our guests and aligning our fleet of Suite Ships with destinations where river cruising delivers the greatest depth, diversity and demand. France continues to outperform, particularly along the Seine, and we’re making moves to support that momentum for guests.”
“When guests show us where they want to go, we meet them there,” added Hoffee. “Right now, that place is France – specifically sailing along the Seine and Rhône Rivers.”
