MSC Cruises has started its repatriation of guests who were stranded onboard MSC Euribia due to the war in Iran. The operation includes five charter flights which will see close to 1,000 guests leave the region by Saturday; the first flight scheduled to take off yesterday (March 5).
In a statement, the cruise line says they have been working on the safest and quickest way to repatriate guests. At the same time, they are pursuing every available pathway for the remaining guests – including commercial flights, further charter options and coordinated government-assisted solutions.
Earlier this week, MSC Cruises announced they would work with its partners to begin repatriation, which was challenging due the cancellation of many flights to and from airports in the Middle East.
In the winter cruise season, MSC Euribia operates in the Middle East region, sailing from ports such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha (Qatar) to destinations around the Arabian Gulf.
