Explora Journeys has confirmed that EXPLORA II will operate from November 2026 to March 2027 exclusively in the Mediterranean with the originally planned Middle East deployment no longer taking place.

The luxury line says the decision has been taken well in advance, following careful consideration and reflecting Explora Journeys’ commitment to providing guests and travel advisors with clarity and confidence as they plan their future Journeys.

EXPLORA II will instead offer itineraries across the Western Mediterranean. Guests will be invited to experience this celebrated region during the winter season, when its rich heritage, refined gastronomy, and timeless beauty can be enjoyed in a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere.

Explora Journeys said these itinerary adjustments enhance the Winter 2026/2027 season with new destinations designed to immerse guests in the cultural and coastal treasures of each region. Journeys will feature destinations across the Western Mediterranean and North Africa, blending iconic locations, hidden gems, and seasonal highlights such as Funchal, Casablanca, Ibiza’s Old Town, and winter festive moments at sea.

“In the quieter winter months, the Mediterranean reveals a more contemplative charm. With fewer crowds, ancient cities and coastal landscapes offer a deep sense of connection and discovery,” Explora said in a press statement.

“Life on board EXPLORA II mirrors this with calm elegance and restorative space.  Guests enjoy oceanfront suites, sunlit lounges, Ocean Wellness rituals, and a more tranquil onboard rhythm that evokes an Ocean State of Mind — where the ship itself becomes as much a part of the destination as the places visited.”

Explora says all guests with reservations on updated Journeys, along with travel advisor partners, will be contacted directly, with dedicated support provided and appropriate options offered where applicable.

Further details of these new Itineraries will be announced at the end of the month.
