EXPLORA III Makes Maiden Call to Québec City
by Bruce Parkinson
EXPLORA III, the newest ship in the Explora Journeys fleet, made her maiden call to Québec City, marking another milestone in the ship’s inaugural season as she continues her journey through Canada and the U.S. East Coast.
The third ship to join the fleet, EXPLORA III represents an important milestone in the brand’s growth, marking the halfway point toward its vision of a six-ship fleet by 2028. As the cruise line’s first LNG-powered vessel, she also reflects the brand’s continued investment in innovation.
The arrival at the Port of Québec was commemorated with a traditional Crest Exchange Ceremony, a long-standing maritime tradition celebrating a vessel’s first visit to a destination.
Travel advisors from across the region were also welcomed on board to experience the ship first-hand and gain deeper insight into Explora Journeys’ approach to ocean travel, focused on spacious oceanfront suites, ambitious culinary concepts and immersive destination experiences.

Explora Journeys says that with its French heritage, centuries-old architecture and vibrant culinary culture, Québec City offers the kind of authentic cultural discovery that resonates with today’s luxury travellers.
“EXPLORA III represents an important milestone for Explora Journeys, marking the halfway point in our vision of six ships by 2028,” said Chris Austin, President, North America for the line owned by global cruise and shipping leader MSC Group.
“She builds upon the success of EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II, while introducing new experiences and enhancements that further elevate our approach to ultra-elegant ocean travel. We are delighted to celebrate her first visit to Québec City and welcome guests to discover this remarkable destination through the Ocean State of Mind.”
Following her call in Québec City, EXPLORA III will explore destinations across Canada and the U.S. East Coast before making her way to Miami for her inaugural Caribbean season.
