Norwegian Cruise Line Unveils New In-House Entertainment

by Dori Saltzman  March 05, 2025

During a behind-the-scenes visit to Norwegian Cruise Line’s Creative Studio back in January, the cruise line made it clear that it was moving away from Broadway-style entertainment in response to customer demand. At the time, TMR had the chance to take a sneak peek at the first show coming out of NCL’s new strategy, “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince.”

Now, NCL has revealed four more brand new, original shows coming out of its in-house entertainment team: “Red, White, & British,” “Bring Back the 90s,” “ICONS: The Bands,” and “Ignite the Night.”

The shows will debut through Sept. 2025 across nine ships in the fleet.

“NCL has long set the standard for the finest entertainment at sea, with world-class productions and top-tier talent,” said Bryan A. White, vice president of entertainment production for NCL. “We’re excited to further enhance our guests’ cruising experience by introducing even more exclusive original productions and offering a wider range of entertainment options across our fleet.”

Taking a play from Virgin Voyages’ playbook, Norwegian Cruise Line is also adding what it calls “Mini Moments of More.” These micro entertainment pop-up events will include things such as flash mob performances poolside, in dining rooms, and more.

“These thrilling, interactive moments will keep guests on their toes, adding an extra element of fun and energy throughout the guests’ cruise journey,” the cruise line explained.

The four new mainstage shows will be:

Red, White, & British: Developed in partnership with long-time NCL collaborator, Burn the Floor, an Australian-born collective of ballroom champions, this production celebrates iconic British musical performers and artists such as David Bowie and Queen. The high-energy show will make its debut on Norwegian Breakaway’s March 14, 2025 cruise, followed by Norwegian Epic (May 14) and Norwegian Prima (Aug. 24).

Bring Back the 90s: A show for the Gen Xers and Millennials, Bring Back the 90s will take guests on a nostalgic “Alice in Wonderland” inspired journey through the iconic songs of the 90s The show debuted on Norwegian Getaway’s current sailing, and will launch on Norwegian Joy during its July 7 Alaska sailing.

ICONS: The Bands: Premiering on Norwegian Encore during tis March 30, 2025 Panama Canal sailing, this show will be an immersive concert-style experience showcasing the anthem songs of some of the greatest bands of all time. The production will feature the nine-person cast that also performs “Choir of Man.” The show will also launch onboard Norwegian Escape’s May 25 Caribbean sailing.

Ignite the Night: Blending the visual appeal of TV’s most iconic reward shows with a mix of dance and music, Ignite the Night is already playing on Norwegian Jewel and will launch on Norwegian Gem starting Sept. 5, 2025. It was creaeted in partnership with “Dancing with the Stars” professional dancer Britt Stewart.
