G Adventures Launches Rail Collection

G Adventures is the latest company to embrace the 2025 Rail Renaissance in travel.

The small group tour operator’s new travel option, the Rail Collection, includes 60 trips in 20 countries. The option is available across G Adventures’ travel styles, like Solo-ish, Geluxe, and 18-to-thirtysomethings in regions like China, Japan, Vietnam, Poland, and Italy.

Like the rest of G Adventures’ products, the Rail Collection was created with immersive experiences and sustainability in mind. The train-based trips are built on iconic rail routes, designed to make the travel itself as meaningful as the destinations.

Additionally, by replacing air transport with rail, travellers can reduce their carbon footprint while seeing more of the destination from the ground level.

“Rail travel can be so much more than just a mode of transportation; it’s a gateway into responsible cultural exploration, where the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination,” said Yves Marceau, vice president of product at G Adventures.

Marceau also stressed that the rail trips maintain the spirit of adventure that the tour operator is known for.

“[Rail] is often viewed as a slow-paced and tame way to travel but, in reality, it can be thrilling, vibrant and filled with cultural immersion,” the VP said. “Travelers want the thrill of adventure without the stress of planning every detail, the freedom to explore without the hassle of airports, and a journey that feels as immersive as the places they visit.”

The 60 trips in the Rail Collection are pre-existing itineraries, elevated with train travel, such as high-tech commuter trains in Japan or sleeper trains in Vietnam. Each trip has a maximum size of 16 guests and is led by a G Adventures “chief experiences officer” or CEO.

The Rail Collection is available for booking now, with some adventures departing as early as April 2025. For more information, and to view the full list of rail trips, visit: https://www.gadventures.com/rail-collection/.
