Guyana Tourism Authority is celebrating Mashramani – its annual festival marking the country’s transition to a republic – with seven day packages designed for Canadian travellers. Air Transat offers direct service to Georgetown through April 25, 2026.
Through its partnership with local tour operator Wilderness Explorers, the Mashramani Package includes guided access to Republic Day events while showcasing Guyana’s heritage, landscapes, and world-class natural attractions.
“Canada is an important market for Guyana, and Mashramani is an ideal time for visitors to experience our national identity and cultural traditions,” said Mr. Kamrul Z. Baksh, Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority. “With direct service from Toronto and our partnership with Wilderness Explorers, Canadians can explore Guyana more easily while enjoying authentic cultural experiences and our extraordinary natural sites.”
Taking place from February 21 to 28, 2026, the package begins in Georgetown with visits to historic and cultural landmarks, followed by participation in the Mashramani float parade with a dedicated guide.
Travellers will also take an internal flight to Kaieteur Falls, the world’s tallest single-drop waterfall, located deep within the Amazon rainforest, along with scenic road and river journeys across the country.
